An infrastructure organisation has selected Shearwater and Juniper’s Secure Access offering for their secure remote access solution.

Shearwater has been selected to assist a NSW State organization in preparing the corporation to meet the standards for AS/NZS7799.2:2003 certification.
The company’s trained consultants, including lead auditor certification , 7799 processes, industry knowledge as well as its experience in assisting other organizations with their certification where key differentiators which assisted it in securing the tender.
The process is expected to be completed in line with the NSW Government Circulars Nos; 2001 – 46 and 2004 – 06, in undertaking to certify to the AS/NZS7799.2:2003 standard for information security, by September 2005.
Shearwater is currently working with a number of organizations in preparing them for 7799 certification and has developed methodology and processes which assist in minimizing the time required to achieve the certification objective.
Shearwater is pleased to announce that Mark Hofman , a director of Shearwater Solutions (Shearwater) has been appointed by the SANS institute as an certified SANS trainer. Mark is currently the only SANS authorized trainer from Australia.
Mark is scheduled to conduct the GSEC course in Melbourne in June 2005.

Shearwater Solutions (Shearwater) has successfully assisted a NSW State Government organization operating in a complex business environment, in formulating an IM&T Strategic Plan that will guide the organization’s strategic direction for the next three years.
Shearwater has completed IM&T Strategic Plans for a number of State organizations and is well versed with OICT guidelines for preparing NSW State Government ICT Strategic Plans.
Shearwater takes a collective approach when preparing these plans and its underlying principle is to involve the client in developing these plans as they will ultimately take ownership of these plans.
The purpose of the IM&T strategic plan is to provide the organization with a framework that can be used in aligning its internal efforts and processes with the corporate direction. The IM&T strategic plan is developed to guide decision making processes, projects and tactics and ensure that effort is focused on achieving corporate objectives. New proposals or enhancements to business processes should be tested to ensure that they conform to the approved IM&T strategic plan.
