Senior Security Consultant – IRAP

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing compliance related and technical security advice to customers
  • Performing compliance based assessments such as ISO 27001 and IRAP
  • Performing Threat Risk Assessments
  • Maintaining and improving consulting processes and methodologies
  • Liaise with clients both in person and remotely
  • Ability to plan and scope customer engagements
  • Being responsible for your deliverables and KPI’s
  • Writing and delivering technical reports and documentation

Mandatory Qualifications and Skillsets:

  • Diploma, Bachelor degree or higher, in information systems or a similar field
  • Successful implementation of ISM compliance
  • Be an IRAP assessor or hold all the necessary pre-requisites to become an IRAP assessor, i.e, one of CISM or CISSP and, one of CISA, CRISC, IS0 27001 Lead Auditor, or PCI QSA
  • Baseline clearance or higher
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to present well in front of customers and potential customers
  • Drive to continuously learn and further your knowledge in information security
  • A solid understanding of network design, operations and protocols
  • A working knowledge of information security principles and security technologies
  • A pragmatic approach to implementing compliance controls

  • Performing Security Reviews and Risk Assessments
  • Liaise with clients both in person and via remote means
  • Ability to plan and scope customer engagements

Requirements:

  • PCI QSA (current) with demonstrated experience in conducting large & complex assessments
  • Working experience of ISO 27001
  • Bachelor degree or higher, in information systems or similar field, or equivalent TAFE Diploma
  • Broad information security experience across multiple disciplines
  • Solid technical background across a range of network, system and application architectures
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting, auditing or assessment
  • It is desirable you have experience with one or more of the following:
    • Implementing or assessing against the ISM
    • Security Architecture
    • Secure Software Development Lifecycle
  • It is desirable that you have at least one of CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, ISO Lead Auditor/Implementer or SABSA.

  • PCI QSA (current or previous) with demonstrated experience in conducting assessments
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting, auditing, assessment
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following:
    • Conducting Risk Assessments
    • Implementing or auditing ISO 27001
    • Implementing or assessing against the ISM
    • Security Architecture
    • Secure Software Development Lifecycle
  • It is desirable that you have at least one of CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, ISO Lead Auditor/Implementer, SABSA.

Senior Security Analyst – Managed Security Operations

Our Managed Security Operations team works as the frontline of defence for our clients in securing their assets and understanding their risks on an ongoing basis. This role will offer ample exposure to the newest technologies and offer you the opportunity to continue to grow technically. Shearwater’s diverse customer base will provide you with new and exciting challenges on a regular basis. This role also offers potential to grow into a team leadership role.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing daily checks of clients’ security systems
  • Performing level 1 and 2 incident response
  • Liaising with clients in handling incidents and communicating status updates
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining security infrastructure and systems for clients
  • Being responsible for your deliverables and KPI’s, with the potential to take over responsibilities as necessary for junior staff
  • Writing and delivering technical reports and documentation, including monthly summations

Must have skills:

  • 3+ years experience in IT Security, with specific experience in complex Security Operations environments
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of networking and IT security concepts
  • Knowledge and experience across some, if not all, of the following technologies: IDS/IPS, SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, Firewalls and Web Application Firewalls, Content
  • Filtering, File Integrity Monitoring
  • Ability and desire to grow into a Team Lead role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with a team and with clients
  • Relevant certifications, e.g. CISSP, SANS GIAC, CCNA Security.

Nice to have skills:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Experience in a Consulting or Managed Security Operations environment
